Newstead's Stonemasons Trail will be launched at the Sundials Festival on 7th September.
Stewart Wilson, The Tweed Valley Blogger is a five star rated tour guide. He will lead participants on a guided tour, bringing to life the legacy of the stonemasons who built Melrose Abbey and made Newstead their home. Learn about the importance of Newstead's masonic lodge, the traditions of its members and the generations of masons who's ancestors continue to live locally. Stewart will uncover the hidden marks and sundials scattered around Newstead, left behind by the Master Masons as they practiced their craft.
Stewart will lead two guided tours on the afternoon of the Festival leaving Newstead Village Green at
12.15 and 14.45

As a lasting legacy Stewart's guided tour will be translated into a map and self-guided tour for residents and visitors to enjoy going forwards.
