Visitor Information Project

NVCT are investigating options to provide information for visitors to Newstead to promote and celebrate our unique heritage.

We have been working with Stewart Wilson (The five-star rated Tweed Valley Blogger) to develop The Stonemasons Trail which has been created as a legacy of our inaugural Sundials Festival in 2025. This self-guided tour honours the traditions of the stonemasons of Newstead who came to build Melrose Abbey, settled and worked here, leaving their mark not just on buildings, but on the very character of the Village.
